Introduction

This WW1 Cycling Route has been created by the Rotary For You.
The Lyssenthoek Cemetery was known as the Remy Siding (the siding at Remy Quaeghebeur). In those years it was a hospital that was consecutively in the hands of the French – the British – the Canadians - the Australians and finally the French again. 320,000 wounded soldiers were treated at the hospital, 10.835 victims are buried at the graveyard where casualties of nearly every battle in the 4 year war can be found.
